Groundwater in the basement

Groundwater in the basement

If the soil around the basement is saturated with groundwater, hydrostatic pressure can allow water to penetrate through the basement walls.

The presence of groundwater in the basement is usually the result of a high groundwater level in combination with basement floors or walls that are not watertight.

If the soil around the basement is saturated with groundwater, hydrostatic pressure can allow water to penetrate through the basement walls. Basements without a floor or with a damaged/porous wall cause more frequent puddles at high groundwater.

In this case, the wet basement is flooded very quickly in a short time. The walls of your home completely absorb the rising groundwater.

You can see this in the damp spots on the walls. Many people suffer from rising groundwater in their basement. Often this is also because their houses have aged and proper insulation has not been installed.

How can you solve groundwater in the basement?

When the groundwater in combination with capillary pressure has entered your cellar, the chin seams of your cellar are often damaged by this pressure so that they need to be repaired. In the first instance, if the openings are not too large, this is done with the injection Logic UW.(basement waterproofing)

This is an injection resin that seals the most minimal cracks thanks to the technical composition of the product which is smaller than NANO; called Pico Technology. The Logic UW injection resin seals effectively and lastingly for a 20-year warranty.

When the chin seams have been repaired, it is important to treat the walls of your basement and to remove moisture by means of Logic Water injections. This is a drip system where a hole is drilled in your walls every 25 cm.

Then Logic Water is placed in the drilled holes by means of bottles (filled with Logic Water). After 24 hours, these bottles are removed and the drilled holes are closed. The Logic Water injections ensure that the moisture that has settled in the pores of the wall evaporates, after which the drying process of the wall begins.

Within 3 months, the walls of your cellar are free of moisture and an insulation is created against new moisture for a duration and warranty of 20 years. What makes the Logic Water injections so special is its operation and effect.

The Logic Water injections are made of a special polymer composition with paraffin that when it comes into contact with water, a surface tension is created that allows the water to evaporate from the walls. At the same time, air can circulate through the pores of the wall, which ensures that your walls can 'breathe'. This contributes to the drying process of your walls and the quality of the living environment.

Logic Insulation provides you with products and services that are bio-based and sustainable, without sacrificing the quality and price.
